Environment and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)
-
Access to clean water, proper sanitation, and a healthy environment is a human right—and a foundation for health, dignity, and development. At Zan Health, our Environment and WASH program is dedicated to improving community infrastructure, promoting lifelong hygiene practices, and protecting Zanzibar’s natural ecosystems.
- Key Infrastructure Projects Include: • Construction and rehabilitation of community water points and hand-dug wells
- These efforts help reduce waterborne diseases, promote dignity especially for women and girls and support school attendance and public health.
- Behavior Change Campaigns: Infrastructure alone is not enough. We drive behavior change through culturally sensitive, community-led education.
- Our Campaigns Focus On: • Handwashing with soap
